Telvent, a part of Schneider Electric, currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Passionate and Motivated individual to assume the role of QA Engineer in our Fort Collins, CO location. A QA Engineer uses creativity, technical curiosity, and stellar communication to help design, test and deliver high quality software for utility companies world-wide. QA Engineers are responsible for ensuring the highest quality by using manual functional testing, automated test suites, regression, endurance, performance and scale testing, while learning and applying testing best practices. The QA Engineer must have the ability to navigate a new piece of functionality and discover its weaknesses.

Responsibilities
- Create and explore! Our team will rely on your ability to creatively explore the software, find the defects, and identify areas of improvement.
- Engage in all stages of the software development process, from requirements gathering through iterative develop-and-test cycles.
- Independently assess an application and identify necessary testing. Use this information to write test plans with the user criteria as your guide (no requirements documentation).
- Follow established guidelines in the testing of software products.
- Identify, report and manage software defects.
- Contribute to team improvement initiatives and projects, including team tools, process changes, and test automation.
- Collaborate with scrum team members in an Agile environment.
- Continually grow skills and knowledge of best test practices, tools and code use.
- Use strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues.

Requirements
- BS (or working toward a degree) in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with a computer emphasis
- Experience or understanding of testing one or more of the following
- Client/server environment
- SOAP/REST web services
- Configuring and troubleshooting IIS
- A basic understanding of relational databases and tools, with the ability to view and manipulate data
- Some experience with load/performance testing of web applications a plus
- Silverlight knowledge a definite plus
