Telvent, a part of Schneider Electric, currently has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer in our Burnsville, MN location. The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of all products, from the definition of test strategies and plans, creation of manual/automated test scripts, rigorous test execution, to final production deployment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing in a distributed application environment.
Responsibilities - Proven ability to develop and maintain test plans and detailed test scripts - Create and maintain test strategies, test plans, test cases, and product release reports for products and/or internal applications - Develop and maintain automated regression testing scripts, performance or load testing scripts, or SQL scripts - Follow established process for defect tracking and reporting, including logging defects in a detailed and reproducible way - Represent QA on cross-functional project teams - Establish and maintain productive relationships with Development and other applicable departments - Provide weekly status reports - Estimate testing requirements for input into planning efforts - Provide suggestions for best practices and process improvement - Provide support in maintenance of QA test environments - Conduct training for less-experience staff members and internal customers
Requirements - Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field is required - 5 plus years of Quality Assurance Testing with 2 plus years of Web Services Testing experience is required - 2 plus year of the proven implementation of automated testing at a programming interface level as well as being knowledgeable of internet protocols and different MIME formats is required - 2 plus year of scripting in any one of these * Python, JavaScript is required - 2 plus years of using Manual Testing Tools such as Quality Center is required - 2 plus years of using Automated Test tools such as Robot Framework, FitNesse, Selenium, QTP or other open source tools is required - 2 plus years in defect tracking tools such as Clearquest, Bugzilla is required - 2 plus years in performance testing such as Load Runner, iTKO LISA, and open source tools is highly desired - 2 plus years of programming in any one of the languages * C++, Java, .Net is desired - Experience testing in Agile Environment/Scrum, with experience using tools such as VersionOne, JIRA, etc. is required - Past experience with mobile application testing is desired - Good working knowledge with SDLC best practices - Excellent understanding of Quality Assurance processes and methods - Ability to communicate across all levels within the organization
