GENERAL SUMMARY: IT Security Specialist position
6 Month CTH
Washington, DC
  
Successful candidates will provide support and fulfill the following outline requirements;
• Develop, maintain and publish USCIS Information Security Division policies and procedures related to the delivery and maintenance of the USCIS Information Security Training Program
• Maintaining current versions in the USCIS Documentation Depository; Develop, conduct, and track security training; • Maintain the CSAT mailbox and assist users with security training related issues; • Manage the CSAT application; • Participate in working groups and attend meetings to represent USCIS ISD
 
Education/Equivalent/Training Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.
 
Experience Type 
  • At least 8 years of experience working in the IT Security field;
• In-depth knowledge of US Government security regulations and methodologies;
• Detailed knowledge of IT Security concepts;
• Working knowledge of NIST, FISMA, and OMB A-130;
• Experience developing training materials and conducting training;
• Experience writing policies and procedures;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills;
• Excellent leadership, teamwork, and client service skills.

Unique/Additional Requirements/Desired Skills:
• Experience with RMS and TA FISMA toolsets
• Working knowledge of DHS IA controls. **Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.**
 
LOCAL and CONUS TRAVEL MAY BE REQUIRED.
This program requires 24X7X365 operational support; therefore, this position is not shift specific and may require rotation of schedule hours. An offer for this position does not stipulate or guarantee a specific schedule or shift.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. Must be able to lift and carry at least 30-50 lbs.
