Position:          Sr. Project Manager
Location:         Alpharetta, GA
Duration:         6+ months
contract

Description:

  • Works independently & partners with application managers/directors, stakeholders & system level subject matter experts to drive the work of the project team for large or highly integrated projects & programs. Demonstrates excellent management & leadership qualities. Go to person on project-related issues.
  • Acts as a technical & professional leader, providing guidance, direction & training to the project team members as necessary. May communicate with Sr. Management regarding the status of specific projects

Key Accountability:

1. Project Execution: Manages all project & possibly program related activities & has responsibility for execution, final delivery & release of the product.
2. Manage Project Scope: Oversee process to define scope of the project based on the business need. Direct project plan approval process from the customer. Develops & manages project schedules status, resources, deliverables, risks & issues throughout the project with input from the application managers, business partners & project team. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, & project costs using appropriate techniques.
3. Manage Project Work: Ensures deadlines are met by facilitating resource planning, organizing & prioritizing. Keeps management & key stakeholders informed. Make sure regular project status/quality meetings are conducted & development of project metrics & project scorecard is accomplished.
4. Define Requirements: Oversee Product Manager(s) to define & manage business partner requirements.
5. Communication Facilitation: Facilitates communication & negotiation within & across the project team(s).
6. Mitigate Risks: Ensure risk & issue process is executed to achieve project success. Reviews project risks & action plans, & escalates to appropriate level of management.
7. Project Leadership: Provides leadership to the project team for the standards & processes throughout the life cycle of the project. Conducts toll gates & provides input into project performance reviews for each team member. Provide vision & strategic leadership, governance & support to the Project Management processes & methodology.
8.Project Closeout /Final Acceptance: Ensure final acceptance for the project from the sponsor/customer 9. Develop Resources Plan

1. Final/Influence in Risk Assessment, Status Assessment, & Scope.
2. Participate/Influence in Process Direction, Team Creation, & Communication Strategy.

7. Intermediate/Advanced in Microsoft Project.
8. Microsoft Team Sites - Able to support administration of this tool.
9. Bachelor's Degree preferred. 5-7 plus years of experience in successful project management

Extensive experience managing multiple, highly complex simultaneous projects involving cross-functional project teams within budgetary & schedule constraints. Extensive understanding of Project Management principles, methods, & techniques. Outstanding analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Outstanding documentation, organization, time management, & problem solving skills. Flexibility in response to change. Retail background a plus. Extensive conflict resolution skills. Sound team building & interpersonal skills required to effectively manage a multi-skilled project throughout the deliverable process. Exceptional problem solving skills; able to anticipate technical & project barriers & adjust approach based on research & experience. PMP certification preferred
