One of SGAs major financial clients is seeking a Information Technology Managerfor a full-time position in Jersey City, NJ. The candidate will have at least two years managing and directing systems development or systems maintenance project teams, or a combination in education and work experience. He/she will be responsible for developing group-wide business plans and technical architecture solutions in the IT roadmap. The job role will include providing Highly Available resilient architecture solutions. Candidate must have knowledge of securities industry and/or related financial services experience. Responsiblities:
* Responsible for managing multiple, complex development projects, often global in scope.
* Demonstrates full knowledge of the firm's products, technology and businesses, and applies this knowledge to initiatives in their area of expertise. The specific technologies include but are not limited to are: Solaris, Linux, Java, html, c/c , Sun One, iPlanet, Apache, TCP/IP, UDP/IP,
* Thorough knowledge of design technologies and tools.
* Advanced degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least eight years work experience in IT with at least six years in program development.
* In-depth knowledge of the system development life system development life cycle, the client's area's functions and systems and application program development alternatives.
* Ability to identify causes and resolve complex system and architecture related issues and concerns.
* Actively knowledgeable in system monitoring and alerting tools to proactively detect and resolve issues.
* Coordinates activities with other IT unit heads to accomplish firmwide architecture improvements as well as required architecture changes.
* Establishes and ensures compliance with policies and procedures for activities within their group. Evaluates current methods and strategies, and implements changes and improvements to manage and control client Architecture.
* Responsible for the direction and training of subordinate managers in their area. Ensures managers are engaged in firms objectives and initiatives. Typically has several project managers and/managers reporting to this position.
