Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Performance Engineer for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial industry clients in Jersey City, NJ.
Responsibilities:  


The role of the Performance Engineer is to plan, execute, and coordinate efforts for the performance team and their respective projects under strict deadlines. The role also includes responsibility for coordinating the capture and resolution of performance-related defects throughout the project testing lifecycle. The role also includes providing leadership, insight and technical expertise in all aspects of application performance. Primary responsibilities include:

* Release time-lines and deliverables from Performance Team and internal cross-impacted entities

* Coordination of performance environment, documents, templates, and calendar

* Responsible for overall management, business and internal communications, scheduling, test plans, and delivery for the business aligned projects (Roadmap)

* Participate in enhancing and deploying a standard test framework to support performance testing

* Work closely with product owners, architecture groups, and development teams to design and implement performance test strategy

* Provide guidance and mentoring on testing strategy and implementation to testing and development team members

* Educate customers, team members and partners to achieve better understanding of performance testing tools, techniques and best practices

* Guide application load testing, ensuring prioritization, relevance and investigating or remediating issues as found

* Interface with partners across all corporate technology disciplines and communicate with senior management as needed

* Other responsibilities will be assigned as required. Flexibility and can-do attitude are critical.

* Extended and off-hours support particularly during the later phases of releases will be required.

Skills Required:  


* BS with 7 years of experience or equivalent (Computers/Engineering Related)

* Project planning, tracking and reporting

* Demonstrate experience in performance test methodology and tools

* Demonstrate or quickly develop understanding of end-to-end application architecture, performance instrumentation and performance tuning, including desktop/browser, network, .NET, websphere application server, database and interfaces/integration techniques

* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills including solid problem solving ability, good decision making and multi-tasking abilities with strong team building and influencing skills

* Self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, assertive and proactive with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

* Strong analytical skills and attention to details: Proven ability to gather/analyze complex data, develop accurate conclusions and provide recommendations

* Excellent written and verbal communication including presentation skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
