- Mission Avionics Architect / Design Engineer 5
The Advanced Programs and Technology Team is working on the future in Aircraft Systems. We are seeking an experienced engineer with proven abilities to architect, design, and develop airborne embedded Mission Avionics Systems. The successful candidate will design and document the Mission Avionics System software architecture. The successful candidate will design the system architecture largely based on reuse of existing military and industry software designs as well as performing Analysis and Benchmarking to define, select, and modify existing hardware and middleware components. The successful candidate will develop the design using hardware and software Open Standards.
Basic Qualificati ons: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Physics. A minimum of 14 years of relevant experience. The candidate should have strong systems engineering experience in developing large scale system architectures utilizing Model-Based Engineering, Analysis and Design. The successful candidate should have a strong background in software intensive systems including operating systems, messaging middleware, processing hardware, networking standards (e.g. 1553, Ethernet), network protocols, and object oriented analysis, design, and development. The candidate must have working knowledge of Open System Architecture concepts and technologies. Must have experience leading, planning and executing trade studies, presenting recommendations, documenting architectures, analyzing mission performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL). The successful candidate shall have experience in modeling and simulation using the latest tools and have working knowledge of systems architecture frameworks. Current Secret DOD clearance and the ability to attain special access (SAR/SAP) is required.
Masters Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, a Top Secret security clearance is a plus. Experience with Rhapsody, CORE, DOORS and Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) is also highly desired.
