The Communications Engineer is responsible for design, development, integration, and test of aviation related communications systems for a developmental program. Specific tasks performed in this role are requirements management, system integration, test development/execution of various types of communications systems and RF system analysis (link budgets, antenna design and signal characteristics). Responsibilities: perform communication system analysis and system performance trade studies; document system requirements and interfaces, with traceability to platform requirements; perform review and analysis of supplier design data, definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration; direct the activities of subordinate engineers to complete project assignments; perform liaison duties to disseminate information to suppliers and other Integrated Product Teams.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and practical working experience with various types of RF systems. Requirements include a BS in Engineering (Electrical/Computer Science, Mechanical, or Aerospace) or related technical discipline (Physics, Mathematics), and a minimum of 14 years of related experience. Equivalent industry experience will be considered as an alternative to specific degrees. Top Secret security clearance is required. Preferred Experience: Experience with the integration and test of aviation related communications systems or component sub-systems and working knowledge of communication engineering theory is desired.
