• System / Software Safety Engineer ( Level 4 ) : B-2 Program

Perform System/Software Safety tasks. This includes the performance of system/software safety analyses to identify, track, and control potential safety hazards that may impact the safety of personnel, air vehicle, or equipment. Responsibilities include performance of Hazard Analyses, Fault Tree Analyses, and review of safety assessments and engineering designs for compliance with established safety criteria. Perform Software Hazard Analysis, including review of software requirements specifications, safety-critical software systems, change requests, and peer reviews. Maintain and execute the program software safety and essential function plans. Occasional travel may be required. A Secret clearnce and Special Program Access will be requested for the person in this position.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience; or an MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, with 8 years of directly related experience. Specifically: ability, knowledge and skills in software concept, architecture, requirements, design, code, and test analyses techniques necessary to support safety critical systems/subsystems; familiarity with electronic systems and circuits and/or mechanical systems.The ability to clearly and accurately express engineering findings orally and in written technical reports and presentations is essential. Experience/training in System Safety/Software Safety. U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience as a systems engineer and/or a design engineer. Familiarity with Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis, MIL-STD-1553, DO-178 and MIL-STD-882 is a plus. Candidates with an MS in Computer Science or Software Engineering . An active Secret clearance.
