Position Responsibilities:
The Senior Security Incident Response Engineer serves as the technical lead for any system stability incident occurring because of or near a security device on a customer network. This engineer is part of the MSS SOC and reports to the Duty Manager. The Senior Security Incident Response Engineer is an expert in the fields of network security, Linux system engineering and crisis management. Candidates have prior SOC experience and understand the demands of this dynamic environment. They possess technical certifications to reinforce their practical experience. Senior Security Incident Response Engineers provide direction to the analysts and assist the Duty Manager in ensuring smooth shift operations. They are brought in to provide context and technical experience to progress incidents towards resolution quickly. Senior Security Incident Response Engineers are expected to generate efficiencies by identifying and fixing problem areas, improving processes and passing on their knowledge.
There is an expectation of small amounts of work after hours, which could include work for key customers, special projects or dedicated task forces within the global SOC.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with customer technical and management teams
- Clear and concise written and oral English
- Strong problem solving skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Security
- Proactive in following up on customer issues
- 3 to 5 years experience in a dedicated security position
- Ability to excel in high pressure environments
Desired Skills & Experience:
- ITIL Foundations training / certification
- 6 or more years enterprise experience
- Experience in Linux, Cisco, Checkpoint, Juniper, Firewall, VPN, Proxies
- Security Certifications CISSP, CCSE, CCSP, JNCIP
