Job Description

Our client is seeking an outstanding Staff Engineer, Network Security who will be a core member of the software development team whose responsibility is to develop the network security test solutions for their award-winning product. They are looking for a self-starter, an individual who understands network security products and can learn new network security threats quickly and who works well independently as well as within a team.

The Staff Engineer, Network Security will work closely with members of the Product Management, User Experience, and User Interface Engineering teams to design and develop new software products as well as to enhance our existing products and online offerings. The ideal candidate will thrive on developing innovative ideas for Cyber Range testing.

Qualifications & Experience:

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent with relevant work experience.
8+ years professional network security related software development.
Expert level C/C++ experience in Unix/Linux environment is essential.
Proven background in the network security field with an understanding of firewalls, filtering, IP networking and routing.
Strong investigative and analytics problem solving skills.
Ability to do packet level analysis and reverse engineering.
Expert level knowledge of network/application and mobile penetration, vulnerability research and exploit coding.
Expert level knowledge of internal architectures of botnets/zombies, malware including mobile malware.
Expert level knowledge in creating attacks toolkits using prevalent techniques such as Buffer Overflow, SQL Injection, DDos, Spear-Phishing etc.

Preferred Skills:
Expert knowledge of encryption algorithms.
Knowledge in Windows/Unix/Mac/IOS/Android OS internals.
Passionate about information security and service excellence.
Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ethical Hacker (CEH) and CISSP certifications a plus.
Knowledge of scripting languages, Shell, Ruby, Python a plus.
SANS Security Programming certifications a plus.
Demonstration of prior working and published tools a plus.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Add new features and enhance threat and intrusion detection test engines.
Work closely with application development teams to deliver new Cyber Range tests.
Work within a test driven development team where unit tests are integrated from the earliest stages of the development cycle; familiarity with Scrum and Agile Software Development methodologies strongly preferred.
Mentor other team members.
Communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
