  • Systems Manager - ServiceNow
  • Foster City, CA

Specific Responsibilities:   Application Engineer, serves as the system manager and the primary point of contact for the ServiceNow! ITSM system and Clarity PPM as well as several management systems in the Facilities and IT areas. This role partners with IT and business to create the strategy, services, and processes related to various IT systems.

* Manages the business needs of a specific area of the business with IT.

* Implements IT strategy determined by the senior management group in a specialized business functional


* Assesses and analyzes business requirements and recommends solution and plan.

* Partners with IT and Facilities business units to lead implementation and maintain system operations support

* Coordinates the work activities of assigned IT staff or other project team members on project-oriented tasks.

* Develops and carries out operating procedures in accordance to the IT strategic plan.

* Works on validation efforts in accordance with GxP requirements.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:   * Responsible for hands on configurations and customization of Service-Now and Clarity PPM applications.

* Facilitating roll out of new applications and modules

* Managing upgrades and any related issues

* Administrate, update and develop ITIL best practices for Service-Now applications and related modules.

* Functions include but are not limited to: business rules, email notifications, forms, workflow diagrams, service level agreements , reports , assets portfolio, user administration, roles , groups and system logs

* Provide ongoing training to support teams, as necessary

* Maintain/update all appropriate documentation

* Responding to "how to" technical questions

* Work with business owners to gather system requirements and scope, develop project plan, and monitor and communicate project progress throughout software development lifecycle

* May coordinate and/or direct the work activities of IT staff or other team members on project-oriented tasks.

* Assesses and analyzes business requirements and recommends solution and plan.

* Understands and performs validation activities in accordance with compliance requirements (e.g. GxP or CFR 21 Part 11).

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:   * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

* Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems

* Working experience with CA Clarity PPM will be a plus.

* Ability to work directly with business partners and end users to generate consensus around technical directions that align with addressing business problems

* Ability to analyze complex business problems and evaluate solutions

* Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills

* Ability to think ahead strategically and must be able to weigh different options to make a decision

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Working knowledge of relational databases

* Data imports and integrations

* Understanding and experience with workflow engines

* Good understanding of ITIL V2 & V3 concepts and processes

* Knowledge of LDAP/Active Directory
