Our New York office is currently looking for creative and dynamic professionals for its Technology department. The Technology department is part of the Technology & Operations Hub based in New York which services JPMorgan's American private banking business. The Technology department is responsible for application delivery, Business and Operations support & projects.

The position summary:

JPMorgan Private Bank manages over $220B AUM in its domestic Discretionary Investment products for over 125,000 clients. The portfolio management for these accounts is managed on a proprietary global platform called Global Strategic Trading Platform (GSTP). A major component of the GSTP platform is the Pre-Trade Compliance (PTC) Framework that enforces hundreds of bank, regulatory and client restrictions before trading is allowed on each account. It is critical that we have a strong technology Product Owner for our PTC Framework to manage the continual revisions and enhancements derived from new investment product developments and to meet risk and compliance's guidance and requirements.
The Product Owner will be responsible for setting the direction for new functionality within the PTC Framework and partnering with our architects to design the optimal system. The Product Owner should be experienced in risk control projects and have a good understanding of the Asset Management and/or Private Banking business. They should have strong technical experience in data management (specifically SQL queries) as well as exposure to Java development and business logic tools. The Product Owner should also have strong project management and communication skills and experience managing a product roadmap with multiple stakeholders. In this role the Product Owner will create that product roadmap and will not simply execute individual restrictions prescribed by the business or risk.
The successful candidate will also ensure the successful execution of the various projects under their remit. They should have a solid understanding of both Scrum and Waterfall execution methodologies as they will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle to aid in successful project completion. This includes requirement gathering, engagement in scrum development, and test management. He/she will be a key point of contact between the technology group and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

Product Management
* Manage the PTC Framework project life cycle from the strategic project planning, execution and on to tactical activities
* Driving the strategic and tactical solutions with the development teams to successful conclusions
* Analysing the marketplace (both internal & external to JPMorgan Private Bank) for competing and partner applications for the PTC Framework
* Develop a multi-year roadmap for the PTC Framework

Requirements gathering and management
* Flexibility in approach to analysis based on the complexity and scope of the change requested
* High-level understanding & coordination with other technology teams on common functional areas.
* Focus on the operational/business models as well as the technology solution.
* Analyst always takes into account the end-to-end impact of any changes
* Present analysis findings to stakeholders for review and approval
Engagement in the scrum development process
* Produce & prioritize backlog for development and estimation
* Support developers with inquiries during iterations
* Ensure QAs/Testers have proper understanding of requirements and so test cases can be developed
* Efficient and effective verbal and written communication both within the Technology team and the stakeholders
* Present technology analysis/design and feedback to stakeholders
* Timely and regular communication of progress
* Build and reinforce relationships with stakeholders through the whole value chain, as well as with other Tech groups
* Identification, communication and escalation of risks and issues as needed
Monitoring for quality in our documentation and deliverables:
* Specifications are sufficiently detailed and accurate
* Ensure sufficient testing effort is planned for every stage of the development cycle
* Follow pre-determined guidelines ensuring project artefacts are completed and posted in accordance with the prescribed deadlines
* Ensure documentation for each functional area is kept up to date with functionality release after release

Qualifications & General requirements:

* University degree, or specialized training or equivalent work experience
* Experienced in risk control projects and have a good understanding of the Asset Management and/or Private Banking business as well as extensive knowledge of financial industry concepts
* Strong technical experience in data management (specifically SQL queries) as well as exposure to Java development and business logic tools.
* Experienced project manager and experience in managing a product roadmap with multiple stakeholders
* Excellent communication skills. Crisp & Clear verbal communication with the ability to be assertive when speaking to a diverse audience.
* Excellent facilitation skills. Ability to command/lead facilitation meetings with clear & specific agenda. Keep the audience attentive and active in participation of the meetings
* Experience in Agile methodology a plus
* Analytical mind, service-minded approach and keen to resolve problems
* Self starter
* Excellent organisational skills, ability to multi-task and manage priorities.
* Excellent business analysis, test planning, activity planning skills. Ability to tailor communication of the plans (i.e., high level vs detailed level) based on the audience it pertains to
* Excellent time management abilities
* Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
* Experience of working with a Global team in multiple time zones
