In an effort to support our large federal client, we are looking for a talented Information Systems Security Engineer (IBM DataPower)  This role is located in Columbia, MD.  This position offers comprehensive benefits, competitive pay and a great working environment.

 

The Information Systems Security Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and implementing IBM Websphere Datapower solutions for the Project and supports SOA security solution design tasks covering support of the enterprise architecture, data engineering and design, information security management, requirements analysis, product evaluation, systems implementation, and production operations. 

 

Designs and implements implementing Datapower solutions, such as Datapower XI50/52, Schema Validation, Message Freshness Checking, Service Invocations, Antivirus Processing, Authentication, Authorization, and Multi-Protocol Gateway

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ Years of XSLT Development Background
  • 2+ Years of XPath Development Experience
  • Firm Understanding of the Datapower AAA Policy Construct
  • Gateway Integration in an Existing Interconnection
  • Creation of Web Services and Service Calls
  • Provide Updates to Documentation Such as Security Design Documents as a Result of the development/implementation process
  • Supports Consumers of the Datapower Component with Integration and Subsequent Upgrades.
  • Successful design and implementation of Datapower architectures consisting of multiple capabilities in the past
  • Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly is very desirable
  • Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs
  • Healthcare experience a plus
  • A major Security certification would be valuable.
  • Familiarity with Directory Services
  • Familiarity with Messaging technologies
  • Familiarity with Web Application Servers and Middleware tools
  • Familiarity with Application Development Life Cycle Methodologies
  • Familiarity with Application vulnerability testing and tools
  • Familiarity with Oracle infrastructure tool suites would be a plus
  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices desirable
  • Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, and clients
  • Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
  • Ability to work as part of team and independently

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics or related field
  • The candidate must have 5+ years experience designing, developing and implementing IBM Websphere Datapower solutions, preferably in the federal government setting. 
  • Seven or more years of Security experience
  • Must have experience leading technical aspects of a project through full system development life cycle (requirements, design, development, test and implementation)
  • Must be able to communicate on highly technical and specialized information to a variety of audiences orally and in writing
  • May have expert credentials or be recognized as an authority
