 The Senior Database Administrator  is a  critical position to the organization that is responsible for database engineering, as well as build, run, and helps provide strategic technical direction for the department. This person will support and develop the SQL Server databases as well as work with the infrastructure DBA to ensure the performance, availability, and security of the databases. 

Responsibilities (MS SQL Server):

• Extensive knowledge with SQL Database Replication
• Implementation Knowledge on SQL Mirroring and log shipping
• Exceptional knowledge of SQL Monitoring tool – IDERA
• Workable knowledge of Storage and Hardware and Network components used in DB clustering
• Good Performance tuning and trouble shooting skills are mandatory
• T-SQL coding and PowerShell coding is a must
• Extensive work experience with Snapshots using NetApp storage technologies
•  Knowledge with SQL 2012 – Always On to implement HA and DR solutions
• Responsible for database scripting, setting the configuration of both and SQL Server
• Having working experience with both and MS SQL Server databases install
• Provides expert level database administration support to 3rd party vendors, developers and others as needed
• Optimizes SQL performance, partitioning, indexing, stored procedures and DTS packages
• Ensures that database systems are operating at acceptable performance and availability levels
• Establishes monitoring thresholds for database systems
• Provides 24/7 support and troubleshooting for business critical database servers
• Works evenings and weekends, as required, providing support and maintenance for systems
• Integrating SQL systems with third-party tools and environments
• Completes platform upgrades and migrations; monitoring performance; coordinating actions

Experience:

• 5+ years  SQL Server Database Administration experience including clustering
• 5+ years managing multiple MS SQL 2000/2005/2008 RDBMS on large systems.
• 5+ years BI/ Data warehousing experience on Microsoft tools. 
• Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects
• 3+ years   monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service
• 5+ years Transactional SQL (T-SQL) and SSIS Packages
• Practical experience in managing the internal and external and MS SQL database security, maintenance plans, and disaster recovery

Preferred Qualifications:

• Database Administration Experience in big corporate environments
• MS SQL (2005, 2008, 2008 R2 / T-SQL / SSIS / SSRS / SSAS ) experience
