Our Cleveland, OH client has a Sales Engineer position available.
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for advanced data and voice networks sales engineering and customer deployment and support functions. In addition, the Sales Engineer will contribute as a member of the new product development and deployment team. The Sales Engineer will be responsible to progress the sales process, assist in closing sales and ensure successful delivery of customer networks and services.
The Sales Engineer should have a customer and sales orientation to support new sales transactions by engineering customer networks and presenting to potential clients as well as fulfilling commitments through deployment.
This position requires an in depth understanding of, and experience in, carrier provided Voice over IP and IP infrastructure from user interface to Voice over IP networking.
This position requires demonstrated abilities to design and advanced WAN and LAN enterprise environments utilizing MPLS, and public internet configurations.
Responsibilities:
Product Engineering:
- Design and recommend WAN and LAN configurations for Enterprise Data and VoIP networks.
- Assist in future product set design and requirements
Network and Service Reliability:
- Assist in resolution of Tier III IP and VOIP issues.
- Manage VOIP issues using a variety of analyzers, i.e. Acterna, Aritza, Empirix, Finisar, Radcom, Wildpackets.
- Provide on site support for chronic VOIP troubles and data equipment installations
Customer Network Design and Deployment:
- Sales Engineering
- configure, document, and troubleshoot next generation equipment
- Onsite deployment
- Provide technical information, support and training for customers (internal and external)
Other duties assigned and determined by business needs
Requirements:
- Able to create and present comprehensive Technology Solutions in support of Sales Proposals.
- Able to teach and develop new competencies within existing team
- Able to build strong production routine to meet key performance indicators related to network reliability and delivery of customer’s service et al.
- Contribute to an environment of continuous improvement and strong project management.
- Manage customer expectation through standard processes as well as one-on-one communication
- Understanding of the following technology areas
- private networking for data / VoIP (MPLS, Frame Relay, Point to point, QoS )
- Enterprise class routers/switches (DSL, CBL, DS1, bonded, DS3, ethernet)
- Enterprise class Firewalls, VPN Connectivity
- VOIP SIP protocol, Packet interpretation
- VOIP Gateway / IAD configuration
- Basic knowledge of all the following protocols H.323, H.323v2, SIP, SIP-T, Megaco, MGCP, H.248, SCCP, G711Codec, G.729Codec, G.726, SS7, PRI, G.722, G.722.2.
