Immediate Need!  Linux Systems Administrator in Madison, Wisconsin - Direct Hire/Perm

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

 

Experience:

• 3+ years of relevant experience administering dedicated LAMP stack servers

 

Required:

• Strong Linux system administration skills (RedHat/CentOS and/or Debian)
• Robust Apache Web Server, MySQL, and PHP administration skills
  • Mod Rewrite
  • Mod Proxy
  • SSL Certs
  • Pear
  • PECL
  • MySQL Maintenance/Backups and Configuration
• Strong knowledge of scalability and high-availability
• Skillful in shell and high level scripting languages such as BASH, PERL or AWK
• Experience with cloud-based services such as EC2/Linode/OpenShift/Rackspace Cloud
• Experience administering servers running medium to large sites
• Linux security: UFW/IPTables or other

Optional:

• Experience with Postgres or other non-MySQL databases.
• Experience with search engines like Solr, Sphinx, Lucene, Elastic Search or other search tools a plus
• Experience with caching tools such as: Memcache, XCache, PHP APC
• Familiarity of VMware ESXi, virtualization, backup, recovery and clustering a plus
