Network Operations Center Technician

NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER TECHNICIAN REQUIRED to provide day-to-day maintenance and support of IT applications / infrastructure. Responsible for operating and maintaining production systems, as well as providing hardware / software equipment support. Typically maintains a high level of direct client interaction.
OVERVIEW
- Monitor systems operations at the highest technical level in a large enterprise-wide highly automated operations center.
- Monitor systems operations, network infrastructure, trunked radio system, microwave systems, SNA circuits, and data circuits. Familiarity with Ionix monitoring tool.
- Analyze problems or malfunctions, take corrective action, and/or coordinate corrective action with system engineering or vendors as appropriate.
- Perform remote diagnostics on analog / digital / frame relay circuits via Cisco IOS commands.
- Document problems and their resolutions. Keep abreast of changes to processes, organization, infrastructure, and new or upgraded technologies to identify the impact on the computing environment and its customers.
- Participate in the management of any new infrastructure added to the network and ensure that it is included in the network monitoring and management tools.
- Maintain Data Center security through temporary access lists and controls.
- Participate in the introduction of technological, organization, procedural or application changes.
- Perform related duties as assigned or requested. Position supports rotating shifts covering 24x7x365.
- Maintain and apply working knowledge of client standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.
- Weekly progress report to include list of incidents', actions taken, and resolutions.
- Resolve network system malfunctions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- CCNA required with 3+ years' experience
- CompTIA A+ certification required with 5+ years' experience
- CompTIA Network+ required
- CompTIA Server+ wanted
- 5+ years' networking experience
- Server break-fix experience
- Must be able to work 3 pm - 11 pm and 11 pm to 7 am Sunday through Saturday
