Project Specialist

Our client is a global industry leader in tracking systems for ground, maritime and airborne ISR applications. Their tracking and telemetry systems involve RF and microwave technologies, antennas, tracking controllers and electro-mechanical positioning subsystems. This Project Specialist position represents an opportunity to join a dynamic and technically innovative organization; the ideal candidate will have a strong interest and proven experience in project engineering, encompassing the design, development, testing and implementation of complex engineering projects.
Position Responsibilities:
The Project Specialist will be responsible for serving our North American customer base by carrying out the following responsibilities:
- Serve as primary technical point-of-contact (POC) for projects within the US and Canada.
- Manage regional projects, schedules and customer updates.
- Manage and participate in project review meetings.
- Assist in the review, analysis, and evaluation of customer requirements such as technical specifications, drawings, manuals, and related engineering documents.
- Apply systems engineering methods for trouble-shooting and fault isolation.
- Assist in on-site installations and training sessions.
- Perform complex analysis and systems tests; prepare specifications, test plans and reports.
- Define, compose and execute factory and on-site acceptance tests.
- Provide engineering inputs for RFPs and technical proposals.
- Interact with vendors, i.e., specifications, purchase orders of catalog items, perform incoming parts inspections, including on-site at vendor premises.
- Work closely with engineering, sales, program management and operations teams.
- Help organize and participate in trade shows.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
Position Requirements:
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience, preferably in aerospace and defense environments
- Strong RF and microwave experience required
- Telemetry and/or antenna experience - a plus
- Electro-mechanical experience - a plus
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, multi-task and act under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Familiar with the use of: Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, Vector Network Analyzers and Digital Oscilloscopes.
- Posess strong electronics diagnostic and troubleshooting skills as well as thorough understanding of technical concepts and principles
- US Citizen; ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance
Compensation: $80K-90K+, depending on prior earnings and experience
Education: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Location: Fort Lauderdale FL area
Travel: Approximately 35% within North America, possible other international travel
Reports to: Director of Engineeering
