Database & Reports Developer

Description:

Ellumen is a small business located in Arlington, VA providing a broad spectrum of information technology and ancillary services to government and commercial customers primarily within the healthcare delivery domain.  We are seeking an Oracle Database & Reports Developer in Alexandria, VA to provide database development services.

This position is in support of veterans’ healthcare and the military, candidates will be required to: participate in a Data Engineering (DE) Team supporting one or more application projects. Work collaboratively with the Application team, including architects, developers and testers, to ensure project success. Collaborate with the Program manager to plan and manage the DE activities and deliverables. Plan and lead database development and maintenance of databases including: design database environments and databases design, develop, modify, test, release/deploy and maintain database objects, design database objects and supervise develop, modify, test, release/deploy and maintain.

Proactively supports application teams, provides advice on application data issues and assists business and technical personnel in data analysis activities including using SQL queries.  Perform model conversion (data mapping) to produce a data dictionary and data mapping matrix between the external software and the internal database for business function replacement.  Perform data quality analysis / data profiling, to produce a data quality assessment.  Designs Data Transformation Strategies for Data Migration. Creates report extracts from Oracle databases.

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. 4+ years of experience as Oracle DBA, data architect, or data analyst. Certified Oracle DBA preferred. Experience with Oracle 11g DB

SKILLS:

• Experience with Data Migrations, conversions, and writing scripts and procedures to load data from external systems to an internal database.
• Good understanding of full software development lifecycle, preferably Agile or Waterfall development.
• 8+ years IT experience, applications based experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with high volume and high transaction databases.
• Expert knowledge of PL-SQL and SQL
• Knowledge of Oracle Services and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• UNIX and Windows Systems knowledge.
