Join a 2012 Best of Staffing company! We are looking to add a Java Programmer to a federal project in Aberdeen, MD. Candidates interested in applying for this position must be a US Citizen and able to obtain the required DoD clearance.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting in the maintenance and development of software products using a variety of programming languages and tools
- Assisting in creating automation scripts and install packages in conjunction with fielding software products
- Working with our test lab engineers to diagnose and define defects or other issues and provide assistance as required in designing test plans and procedures
- Writing documentation, reports and other artifacts as needed in support of our CMMI processes and procedures
- Interact with customers in the field when required to gather detailed information about requirements and/or help diagnose and reproduce program errors and code solutions
- Other similar or related duties as necessary. Some travel may be required
Job Requirements Include:
- A bachelor’s degree (BS) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited 4-year college or university and five years of software development (programming) experience, or a minimum of eight years of programming experience and demonstrated mastery of computer science concepts in lieu of education;
- At least two years of current Java programming experience, or four years of recent Java programming experience with currency in a related programming discipline
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Background necessary to obtain a DoD security clearance (holding an active or current Secret-or-above security clearance preferred)
Preferred Job Requirements Include:
- Experience using the Eclipse IDE and tools such as Mule and Maven strongly preferred
- Web service programming experience using IIS preferred
- Programmatic or deep practical knowledge of Windows OS security policy settings
- Experience programming C++
- Experience programming C#
- Experience programming SQL, preferably Microsoft T-SQL and/or Oracle
- Experience with modern messaging and RPC technologies (e.g. SOAP)
- Experience with Unix or Linux and shell scripting
- Experience developing software for one or more of the military logistics arenas (e.g. supply, transportation, maintenance, simulations, etc.)
- Experience working with InstallShield
