-- Strong DBA who has experience with DB2 Host Database Administration experience to include experience with creation, maintenance, monitoring, performance & tuning, recovery, security, and data support.

-- Strong skills in the areas of communication, organization, problem solving, and performance resolution.

-- Ability to apply technical solutions to complex problems or projects.

-- QREP (QueueReplication) experience is desirable.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for DB2 Host Database Administration including creation, maintenance, monitoring, performance & tuning, recovery, security, and data support. Application and customer service support must be timely and accurate for minimal outage impact.  There are no direct responsibilities for budget or corporate planning. However, the candidate will participate in project planning which will serve corporate strategic goals.

SYSTEMS POSITION WILL INTERACT WITH/BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

EDC (Enterprise Data Center) Applications within HITECH (Health Information Technology for Economic & Clinical Health Act) such as NLR (National Level Repository), Spring Batch, ILOG and JRULES.

PRIMARY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE ORGANIZATION:

The candidate will work with internal and external customers, software vendors, internal I/S and management in a matrix organization.

TEAM SIZE:

9 DBA's (including this position) on his/her primary team and a total of 22 DBA's in the department.

WORKING HOURS/CONDITIONS:

There will be on-call responsibility as well as non-business hours worked which will be required on weeknights or weekends. The support of the NLR applications often requires interaction with several customer areas.
