- Configuration Analyst 3

Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Software Configuration Analyst 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Aberdeen, MD. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Defense Technologies Division, Battle Command Applications.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Manages the end to end execution of the configuration management plans (CMP) for all projects to successful completion.
* Audits software change procedures, software development, software testing, and software documentation to verify compliance with the CMP.
* Act as the Point-of-contact for all Configuration Management (CM) issues for assigned US Army Systems, being an advocate for good CM practices, executing the change control processes, including the conduct of configuration control boards and maintaining related version and revision controls to documents and software.
* Manage the internal CCB process, creating CCB package for program stakeholder review and running internal CCB meeting.
* Be part of the establishment and assignment of configuration identification functions, including the establishment of the CM Library (CML) and baselines.
* Direct and conduct CM audits and reviews.
* Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.
* Serve as the focal point for control, storage, retrieval and delivery of all CM data for assigned systems.
* Work with software and hardware engineering teams to execute CM plans and procedures for software development and related hardware testing.
* Participates in design reviews, configuration audits, and evaluations of software products to ensure proper identification, control, and status accounting of the software baseline for each system.
* Working on code management, audits, baseline identification, and preparation and control of documentation for software projects.
* Provide reports and status updates for all CM and CMMI activities.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* BS degree in Engineering or other technical discipline plus 6 years of directly related experience required. 8+ years of additional direct relevant experience may be substituted for education.
* Experience with software CM processes and procedures.
* Experience with CM tools.
* Understanding of software sustainment methodologies, concepts and software development environments.
* Quick learner, creative, resourceful, team player who is also able to work independently with strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
* A thorough understanding of software, firmware, hardware and change management and how this is implemented in a distributed environment; an understanding of the CM processes in industry; experience tracking work products through their lifecycles; experience running or supporting CCB; experience with DoD standards.
* Strong background and experience in CM tools.
* Experience with CMMI Level 3 or higher processes and procedures.
* Experience working in a military environment.
* Prefer a candidate with a current Secret Clearance. This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and/or customer approval.
