My direct end user client is in need of a SAP HCM PY & Labor Analyst.  This position is a full time permanent opportunity and NOT a contract.  U.S. Citizen is required for this work.  My client is a A&D Industry company and the project environment & work is secure.

SAP HCM PY & Labor Analyst

Description

The SAP Labor/Payroll Analyst is an information technology role with responsibility to offer problem resolution, information, guidance and education for the clients Shared Services custom SAP Payroll and Labor Tracking systems. The analyst will troubleshoot, design, implement and enhance the operation of complex and custom SAP labor and payroll information systems and integrated subsystems. A large part of the analyst job is to provide system consulting and advice on day-to-day system and data issues.

Candidates for this role will be expected to have the good analytical skills with knowledge in ABAP for debugging during troubleshooting. Candidates will also be expected to understand the basic process and methods used with an IT organization to support the application management life cycle while continuing the support and development of a very complex and customized set of Payroll and Labor programs within SAP.

Position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance which requires US Citizenship.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Analyzing existing standard and custom payroll and labor tracking processes and programs to identify opportunities for efficiencies, process simplification and adherence to standard SAP practices where applicable.
  • Ensure coordination across operational teams (Payroll, Finance, IT) that impact payroll and time tracking projects/processes to present recommendations and gain buy in.
  • Communicate with development staff in diagnosing and resolving any labor/payroll system issues or problems and questions.
  • Expected to gain complete Business Process knowledge of previous developments in order to ensure programs and enhancements are working as designed.
  • Create and manage clear and concise documentation of internal procedures, business requirements and ongoing change management activities.
  • Writing functional design specifications as needed and work with developers on solution and new features.
  • Training end users on solutions as necessary.

Education and/or Experience

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
  • A minimum 5 years of related work experience.
  • SAP experience in design, configuration and support of Payroll and/or labor processes.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze highly complex configuration scenarios and custom programs to be able to articulate how they impact process changes across other SAP modules including FICO.
  • SAP functional and technical experience working in SAP 4.6 (ECC 6.0 helpful as well) but may also support other applications in the space.
  • Experience in Financial and Controlling transactions in SAP as they pertain to labor and payroll postings.
  • Working knowledge of application development life cycle and solid understanding of Project Management fundamentals and principles.
  • Candidate must have strong problem solving skills, be self-directed and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a strong, demonstrated commitment to customer service and be committed to pro-active review of processes and procedures to continually enhance service quality, service delivery and support.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers.
  • Ability to understand SAP ABAP code including experience with SAP debugging tool.  
  • Upgrade experience from R/3 to ECC environment is helpful but not necessary.
