The Developer will assist in the maintenance, development and implementation of software systems and/or applications for use by the Quality Assurance department and other internal customers. Participates in the full development life cycle and consults with senior peers on projects.

- Analyzes code to find causes of errors and refactors existing code to perform more optimally
- Creates new code for applications and systems used to discover, validate, track, and report defects in the cPanel products and underlying systems
- Documents code changes
- Participates in software design meetings and works with other developers on projects
- Adheres to coding and development standards and practices provided by cPanel
- Adheres to the policies and procedures of the company

- Programming language fundamentals in Perl or comparable language (Python, Ruby, PHP, etc)
- HTML 4/5 and Javascript in a web application environment
- Experience with object oriented code and design patterns
- Understanding of MVC concepts
- Git or other modern source control tools
- Defect tracking and reporting
- Linux command line usage and troubleshooting
- Education/Experience - High School diploma or equivalent
- Six months to two years of Linux / BSD / *nix system troubleshooting or a related certification (RHCE)
- Six months to two years of development experience
- Travel - Occasional local and/or overnight travel may be required
