Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Sr. Network Engineer for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial industry clients Jersey City, NJ. Consultant will be working for the CNG (Corporate Networking Group) team.
Responsibilities:  


1. Adds/moves/changes for our access layer & server farm switches.


- Reserving switchports for new connections.


- Configuring speed, duplex, vlan, etherchannel, etc.


- Add/removing/modifying DNS entries via QIP client, and verification of change.


2. Change management for basic network requests.


- Taking assigned network request, completing change management, and once approved, executing task.


- Tasks would include CCNA level activities, such as trunking, setting up packet captures, vlans creating, configuring SNMP/logging and other global settings on routers and switches.


3. Level 1 Troubleshooting.


- Troubleshoot Campus Network alerts, such as hardware faults, down LAN and WAN interfaces, interface and system errors, threshold alerts etc.


- Ability to identify impact on network based on device, criticality and redundancy, and determines if CNG (Corporate Networking Group) on-call engineer needs to be paged for escalation.


4. Provide basic support of CNG Riverbed WAN Optimization.


5. Provide basis support of CNG Cisco wireless network.


- Guest account provisioning.


- 1st level troubleshooting.


6. NYPC Specific Tasks


- ACL maintenance & troubleshooting of connectivity issues arising from NYPC ACL.


- Liaison with NYSE for VPN connectivity issues.


- Liaison with all clients Networking group for VPN, Citrix, FW, Internet connectivity issues.

Required Skills:  


* IP networking skill-set including switching, routing, network security, QoS, Spanning-tree and LAN/WAN technologies. (CCNA level and above).


* Proficient in Cisco switches including Catalyst 3560s, 3750s, 4500s & 6500s. Nexus 5k and 7k a plus.


* Experience in Cisco routers including 2800s/3800s, 2900s/3900s & 7206s.


* Experience in troubleshooting L3 routing protocols including EIGRP, OSPF & BGP a plus.


* Experience with wireless networking preferred;


* Riverbed WAN Optimization knowledge a plus.
