Location: Aberdeen, MD

Responsibilities: 

Develop new applications utilizing Java or C++. Provide User Interface Development (HTML, Flex) for custom applications. Develop environments utilizing Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) with a focus on design and analysis. Developers will be required to assist with Database Analysis and Design efforts within expanded development Team. Review, analyze, and modify existing software programs. The developer will work under some supervision, but will be expected to work independently on complex, non-routine tasks and projects - many unique to the organization. May interact with end-users and other technical personnel to identify and correct software problems. Primary support includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Code, test, debug and install JAVA software applications;
• Develop applications from a detailed design specification and unit test plan Resolveany technical issues related to newly-created or modified code, through debugging and troubleshooting Interacting directly with the end users and/or technical POC to resolve software problems;
• Adhere to stated ATC, Army, and DoD policies and guidelines such as, but not limited to, IA, security, and IT best practices, procedures, and standards. Includes taking action when non-compliance occurs.

• BS/BA in Computer Science or directly related field.
• Five (5) years of experience developing JAVA applications with the latest JDs 1.5 or higher, JDBC, and SQL
• Experience with Web Services, JUnit, and Subversion highly desirable
• Basic Linux knowledge and familiarity with Web Service/SOA Architecture also a plus
• Skilled in Java, JDBC, SQL, XML and troubleshooting techniques knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), UML, and testing frameworks
• Must possess industry certifications to meet DoD Directive 8570.01 training requirements, e.g. Security+ and Java certification.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, a U.S. Secret clearance w/SSBI investigation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
