Affinity, Inc. is looking for a Configuration Management Lead for a client in NJ. This person will be responsible for providing solutions to solve configuration management challenges by identifying the requirements, providing best in class / industry standard solutions, laying out a strategy to implement the solution, locally supervise a team of offshore contractors to execute on the strategy and manage the support to continuously build on the initial rollout.  This position requires an individual with a deep understanding and hands-on experience of HP’s uCMDB (Universal Configuration Management Database) tool and exposure to diverse application and infrastructure environments.  This individual should be able to work with multiple cross-functional global application & infrastructure teams, should be able to understand the needs of diverse technology groups and be comfortable recommending & delivering appropriate IT solutions. 

The Configuration Management Lead is also the primary single point of contact for establishing and maintaining DDMa Discovery Tool and uCMDB to meet current and future needs as part of our client's Information Technology Service Management strategy.  This person will be responsible to lead product version upgrades, patch implementations, integrations with other HP BTO tools, and all other aspects of administering and configuring this tool set.

Responsibilities:

• Define a short term & long term roadmap to build & maintain the right level of relationships between the CIs across different levels in the IT environment.
• Develop a standard usage model for HP uCMDB that is extensible and repeatable across other CIs in the environment.
• Design and implement the Service Models in UCMDB effectively.
• Administer reporting.
• Maintain import jobs from discovery sources including HP DDMa to insure all required data is discovered via UCMDB.
• Create integrations to new discovery sources.
• Ensure access groups are set-up correctly based on roles.
• Review integration requests and prepare technical estimate for corresponding work to be performed.
• Create and maintain any enrichment rules required to propagate data to specific CI fields.
• Maintain CI Types as needed. Configure user profiles with necessary rights.
• Ensure the development of new service models based on design packages.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies & make applicable recommendations to improve the solutions implemented and supported by the team.

Requirements

• In-depth understanding of HP uCMDB with at least 4-5 years’ hands-on experience with the tool.
• Expertise in various integration adapters and techniques of HP BTO products suite which includes following (i) Operation bridge and dashboard capabilities within BSM suite (ii) Integration between HP uCMDB & HPBSM
• Very good understanding of the IT infrastructure (Server hardware, Windows & Linux Operating Systems, LAN & WAN)
• Strong knowledge of application architecture (web, client server, mainframe) and software including Web Servers (Apache, IIS), J2EE Application Servers (Websphere, Weblogic), Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MS SQL).  While we are not seeking a subject matter expert in all of these areas, candidates with a high level of familiarity with each component of this stack are strongly preferred. Basic administration skills for these technologies are a plus.
• Demonstrated experience with installing HP software and maintaining upgrades for servers and agents.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to effectively present technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences regardless of level within the organization.
