Sr. Windows Server Administrator (Large Scale Environment) up to 105k - Alexandria, VA BRIEF DESCRIPTION Full-time on-site Windows Server Administrator, considered a subject matter specialist in Windows OS able to support large (5,000+) user environment in support of the U.S. Patent & Trade Office in Alexandria VA. Roles & Responsibilities: Providing enterprise scale Windows Systems Administration on Microsoft Windows Servers (2003/2008 Release 2) with extensive experience in Active Directory required for a Federal Civilian client in a 5,000 user+ environment: Windows OS installs, configuration, patching, troubleshooting OS/hardware related issues, assist application owner in application troubleshooting, software package installation/creation Support for Active Directory 2003/2008 and Microsoft Exchange Servers Support for Backup and Recovery administration/operations utilizing NetApps and related software (SnapMirror, SnapVault, etc.) Manage hosting servers, backups, system status monitoring, access, and provide application, automation, and troubleshooting support (Tier 2/3) Setup, configure and maintain user accounts, standards, servers, peripherals, and other related hardware and software. Work well independently as well as together with teammates on design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of various in-house tools and develop solutions/strategies as new problems/requirements arise. Desired Skills VMWare is a plus Enterprise Backup Solutions SAN/NAS Attached Server Infrastructure. Altiris Deployment Server IBM Fast Network Attached Storage devices VERITAS Enterprise Backup solutions Job Requirements Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred with 7+ years of General Windows administration experience is required of which 5 years experience must be with troubleshooting advanced Windows OS/hardware related issues. Without a degree, an additional 3 years of job related experience. Must be willing to undergo a background investigation to be able to work on Federal and public sector engagements Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 large scale federal environment (5 Years of specialized experience in administration) Boxtone Monitoring Server for Blackberry Enterprise Service Server hardware/OS/software configuration (5 years) RAID configuration (4-6 years) Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange Microsoft Windows server clustering (4 years) Group Policy Administration.
