Leading healthcare client of mine in the River North area of downtown Chicago is seeking a Java Developer with a strong understanding of Perl on a 3-4 month contract basis starting in mid January.

Client is doing away with Perl language and investing in all Java. Resource must have strong understanding and ability to read Perl Scripts and re write these scripts in Java code.

 

Client has not updated or done documentation for these Perl Scripts in 10-12 years. Candidate must be able to process Perl Modules and decifer Perl code. Resource will not be communicating with clients or VP level internal employees, but must be able to communicate with the Project Managers and Directors who he or she will be working with on a daily basis.

Three top skills:
1. Back- end Java Programming (springs or struts framework)
2. Strong understanding of Perl/working knowledge
3. Self-Starter. Needs VERY little direction. Solid communication (client is going through fast growth and needs someone to hit the ground running)
