In an effort to support our large federal client, we are looking for a talented Programmer III - Java/Web Services. This role is located in Columbia, MD. This position offers comprehensive benefits, competitive pay and a great working environment.

Responsibilities:

The Programmer III is responsible for development and maintenance of complex software application modules and code. 

 

Based on functional and conceptual design specifications, develops diagrammatic plans, design logic and code required to implement software applications and IT systems.  Verifies accuracy and validity of programs by preparing sample test data and test plans; corrects program errors by revising instructions; modifies programs when required by changes in business processes or reporting requirements.



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience creating enterprise Web Services is required – minimum 6-12 months
  • Experience using Enterprise JavaBeans 3.x (EJB3) is required – minimum 6-12 months
  • Hands on experience with SOAP UI (or equivalent) is required
  • Java and SOA knowledge is essential along with familiarity with the following is desirable - Oracle WebCenter Suite 11g, Application Development Framework (ADF), Universal Content Management
  • Familiarity with Application Development Life Cycle Methodology, including system analysis, estimation and testing experience
  • Ability to multi-task, be extremely organized, work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, work independently or under only general direction and be very detail oriented
  • Experience working with various Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) systems and software
  • Ability to work with an integrated team
  • Ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately to achieve resolution
  • Ability to drive team members to generate options that meet the business requirements within the schedule and budget of the project

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or 5-8 years of related experience
