eCommerce Architect for lead powerhouse company in the world.

Based in New York City, this is one of the world's largest companies that is taking educational technology to a whole new level! We are currently looking to IMMEDIATELY add a eCommerce Architect long term CONTRACTOR to the team with strong experience in eCommerce.

What you need for this position:

- Should have at least 10 years of customer facing large scale Web application development/architecture experience with minimum of 3-5 years experience in solution architecture of eCommerce applications on IBM Websphere commerce server and WebSphere Application Server
- Service Oriented Architecture experience with Web Services and messaging
- Excellent communication skills and documentation skills
- Experience with WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Commerce Server 7.X or 6.x, Endeca, JSP, J2EE, DB2, SQL, Messaging technologies
- Experience with scalable eCommerce platform and performance tuning

What you'll be doing:

- Responsible for developing architecture for eCommerce applications that run on WebSphere Commerce Server, WebSphere Application Server and IBM DB2 database server
- Develops messaging and web service interfaces
- Advises application teams on development methods, environment and processes.
- Conducts application design reviews and code reviews
- Develops performance SLAs and reviews performances results and advises on performance tuning
