Job Description:
Deloitte Consulting LLP is seeking a talented JAVA Developer to join our project team to provide development and sustainment services for our clients, both pre and post-implementation. This candidate will be a key software developer for the implementation and/or support of various client applications. Responsibilities include working with System Architects and Business Analysts to understand business requirements and solutions architecture. Not only will candidates be joining a project team, they will be joining a team of resources dedicated to delivering client engagements from an off-site location focused on common tools, technologies, and methodologies.
Job Qualifications:
- Deep knowledge of the J2EE Framework and internals of the architecture, including JSP, EJB, SERVLETS, APPLETS, JSF, JDBC, JMS, Transaction services, Logging (Log4J), Thread Management and development of asynchronous java processes.
- Experience with ORM tools; i.e., Entity Framework, Hibernate
- Experience with Webservers like Tomcat/Apache/Netscape
- Proficient in Web-logic or Web-sphere application servers including having some knowledge on administering them and managing their configuration essentials
- Experience in using version control systems like SVN or CVS or Clear Case
- Should have hands on experience on rapid application development platforms like eclipse or IBM RAD or similar
- Solid understanding of build and deployment process and tools like Maven, ANT /Cruise Control
- Good knowledge on HTML UI, CSS and Javascript
- Experience in understanding system security and how to implement them (Ex, SQL Injections, Cookies etc)
- Knowledge of SOA architecture and in depth knowledge of web services internals
- Experience in handling interfaces with external systems (Payment Gateway, Address Gateway etc)
- Good knowledge on rules engine like Drools or I-Log or Corticon and how they work. (Good to have, not a must)
- Ability to perform code reviews and recommend automated review tools for the project
- Ability to think through performance requirements for a system and come out with testing those scenarios and troubleshoot server runtime issues that result.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP)
- Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices.
- Strong experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA).
- Experience with JQuery or similar technologies are preferred.

- Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software is necessary.
- Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player and exhibit exceptional relationship management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Passionate about building high-quality systems with software implementation best practices while leading and mentoring a team of developers.
- Ability to understand methodologies and tools used for delivery and display a passion to follow and devise processes for improving quality
- Ability to multi-task & support multiple priorities / multiple deliverables
- Ability to understand requirements and turn them to useful client deliverables using a team
- Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
- Microsoft certifications are a plus
Required Skills:
- Ability to travel 30%
- 5 plus years of experience with JAVA
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
