Commercial Audio and Video Engineer, CAD Experience
We are a stable, growing, commercial audio/video consultant firm looking for an Experienced Audio/Video Engineer who has some CAD experience.
We specialize in high-end commercial projects for some of the NYC's biggest commercial venues, along with swanky residential integrations.
We strongly prefer local candidates or those whom wish to relocate themselves.
You will have at least 3 years in-field audio and video design and/or Project Management experience of an Intermediate to Advanced level. In this growth position you will create review documentation for the installation teams, verify dimensions, create system power requirements, point to point for wiring, wiring diagrams, cabinet drawings and more. Additionally you will walk projects in the field, meet with sales and installation to ensure in project profitability.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Consultation with ownership and brand on role of technology in the guest experience. - Design of systems which support these goals in guestroom, public spaces and back of house. Systems under scope typically include VOD, HSIA, Tel/Data, Room Automation, Lock Systems, public space AV, etc. - Design and documentation submittals to architect of low voltage infrastructure (to be implemented by GC) as required to support systems under scope - Design and documentation of systems to be supplied by vendors to property - Bid Review and Award – consulting with ownership, offer prequalified candidate list, review & level submittals, make recommendations, answer RFIs - Construction Administration – during construction administration, we have two primary tasks; coordinating, monitoring and reviewing the GC scope related to systems we've designed, and coordinating, monitoring and reviewing the Vendor scopes for systems we've designed. - During Design phase, support system designer with research, produce document deliverables (drawings, specifications, spreadsheets), attend client meetings, support PM on technical project matters. - During Construction Administration phase, assume a primary technical role working closely with the PM, and taking responsibility for: responding to RFI's (written and SK), attending site visits and meetings for technical coordination of client's vendors and contractors, conducting completion verifications and surveys, maintaining document as-builts, etc. - As needed, escalate technical and design questions to the project system designer.
What You Need to Apply:
- 3 Years or more experience in the field designing commercial and/or residential audio/video systems set for integration. - Computer proficiency-CAD, Windows, Office, Visio, Rack Tools, Microsoft Office, etc. - Experience reading wiring diagrams and system design drawings - Ability for minor and occasional local travel may be required (Approximately 2-3 days a month)
