Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Database Administrator 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at USPS HQ in Washington, DC. Where Technology and Teamwork come together... The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's USPS team. This individual will perform in the role of a SQL Server Database Administrator in support of our postal customer on the USPS ETS contract and be part of a team to support the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) at USPS HQ. The USPS Inspection Service team needs to bring on a resource to assist in the support administration of expertise wide MS SQL Server databases for the USPIS. This individual will perform in the role of database administrator to assist in the support administration of expertise wide MS SQL Server databases for the USPIS. Candidate must have experience in managing a 24x7 huge production database with troubleshooting, performance tuning, and backup/restoration. Candidate should be experienced at developing SQL scripts, data model, table, indexes, stored procedures, triggers, constraints, and backup and recovery as well as maintenance and development.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: * * Knowledge of MS Analysis Server.* * Ability to implement MS SQL Server solutions to build database systems that are high quality, scalable and high performance* * Ability to develop optimized stored procedures, tune databases, and implement databases in a MS SQL Server environment* * Ability to communicate implementation limitations and data driven solutions with all levels of the project team and management* * Coordinates and participates in activities associated with production SQL Servers* * Provides assistance in resolving problems with production SQL Server databases and tracking SQL Server problems with internal Microsoft customers.* * Demonstrated knowledge of relational database management systems and client server technologies.
* Must be familiar with backup/recovery strategies, distributed databases, data migration, security and SQL error handling* * Ability to manage multiple requests and competing priorities.* * Good verbal and written communication.* * Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as team player in fast-paced environment. Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed abovebelow:
* Bachelors
* 15+ Years DBA experience with Bachelors; 13+ Years with Masters.
* Must be able to obtain a USPS Sensitive clearance
