The IT Support Specialist maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals.
Responsibilities
Laptop/Desktop Support
•First response to any problems associated with personal computers, LAN, WAN, and voice services •Assist users with problems, document problem and any resolution, escalate problem as necessary, follow-up with users •Provide internal-based applications support for internal users •Provide desktop client support for internal users •Answer general user questions •Be available for non-business hours support and work when necessary (available to participate in on-call rotation) •Ensure all software used by end-users is in license compliance •Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors •Work involves recommending to management, formal or informal policy or procedure, which guides the efforts of a functional area •Other duties as assigned
Support and maintain user account information
•Set up new user accounts •Ensure active directory data is correct •Ensure Oracle Financials data is correct •EnsuresVPN (RSA) data is correct •Ensure phone and voicemail data is correct
Laptop/Desktop Deployment
•Set up user workstations and telephones •Maintain copies of ghost images used in deployments •Assist in the configuration and maintenance of internal systems and servers
Workforce
•Periodically meet with end users to discuss ways to improve productivity. •Primary support for telephone system including call routing, VoIP •Responsible for the administrator and maintenance of the Avaya phone switch and related systems including Taske, AES, and CCE.
Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience •A+ and MCSA, or equivalent work experience •Requires a basic knowledge of Network Operating Systems, LAN-based electronic mail systems, telecommunication systems, and client applications •The ability to communicate moderately difficult technical matters to internal customers •Works effectively with all co-workers; team player •Communicates effectively and in a professional manner •Routinely lifts and moves PC and peripheral equipment
