Our client in North Suburban Chicago has a 6-8 month contract position available for an experienced Lab Engineer/Technician who can function with minimal supervision.  This role aligns with new product development for this major global medical device company.

Requirements:

Engineer (an electrical engineer or a person with a strong physics background) who can confidently perform the following:

• Build and test prototypes, following specific guidelines
• Work with instrumentation tools like scopes and meters and other lab equipment
• Work with optical sensors / imaging sensors

Other requirements:

• 5 or more years related experience in a lab or R&D setting
• BS in engineering or physics or directly related experience
• Protoboard or closely related prototyping experience (breadboarding)
• Labview experience
• Optical-electrical sensor experience (such as optical detectors, interface circuitry and signal acquisition hardware – National Instrument or similar)
