Modis is currently looking to bring aboard a User Experience Designer for a long term contract just South of Portland. This person would be working as a member of the team in developing cutting edge web based, enterprise software products. The UX Team will be working closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams in order to execute an iterative User Experience development process.

Job responsibilities include:

* Work closely with product teams to uncover business needs, develop design strategies and communicate your design solutions
* Design and specify user interfaces using iterative design techniques including design studios, stakeholder reviews and usability testing
* Produce design deliverables such as sketches, scenarios, wireframes, and prototypes
* Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale both verbally and visually
* Evangelize design throughout the organization

Job and work experience requirements:

* A minimum of 3 years working in a UX designer or information architect role
* Proven ability to work in a cross-discipline, highly-collaborative open and creative team
* Highly creative, detail-oriented, passionate about delivering the best user experience possible
* Excellent communication and writing skills
* Ability to work independently and juggle multiple UX projects at a time
* Proficiency in mockup or design applications such Balsamiq, Adobe Creative Suite, or other
* Familiarity with technical architectures such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AngularJS, JQuery
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in a design-related discipline
* A portfolio demonstrating relevant experience in user-centric design
* Background in visual design a plus
* Experience in rapid prototyping a plus
* Experience working in an agile development environment a plus
