Project - Web Developer II
This is an excellent opportunity for an avid sports fan with deep, hands-on technology expertise to get hands on mobile applications, products, and services that extend ESPN’s brand recognition and provide world class stability, reliability, and performance.
The right candidate will have a demonstrable track record of successfully supporting high quality, innovative applications, products, and services for a consumer-oriented company. The right candidate must have hands-on expertise and be a self-motivated, team player who can drive his/her own work while keeping an eye to the overall business objectives of the organization. They will also need to possess excellent communication skills as they will be interacting with various technology and business teams across the world.

This is a project position with an estimated length of 1 year.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding and hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript. They should also have a sound understanding of HTTP and how clients interact with REST-style web services.
Creating and maintaining accurate and current documentation that can be utilized by our affiliate teams
Experience in working with high-traffic, guest-facing application servers and awareness of security considerations
Experience in full life-cycle software development
Applicants must be able to work both individually and in a team environment to achieve results in a deadline driven environment.
Ability to work on multiple projects and deliver on time according to project schedules
Working hands on with the Content Management System
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a consumer-oriented media company or software development company
Minimum of 3 years of expert level experience with HTML, CSS, & Javascript
Technically proficient in the following:
o Experience with JavaScript, AJAX, and HTML5 a must.
o Common delivery protocols including HTTP, SSL, SMTP, UDP, TCP/IP
o Guest-facing application experience
o Experience with Adobe Photoshop is nice-to-have
o Experience with Java is a nice-to-have
Excellent understanding of multi-tier web architectures, and OO design patterns and concepts
Must be a self-starter that can drive projects forward with minimal management oversight
A strong sense of drive, ownership, passion and a commitment to the user experience
Strong customer focus
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have experience in operations or application support
Pasion for technology and change in the online environment
BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical degree
