Long Term project at our direct client, a major financial firm in NYC, requires a Java / J2EE Architect & Technical Lead. The Java Architect will lead the design and development of major applications initiatives, map complex business requirements into technical designs / solutions / architecture, design / recommend frameworks and manage the architecture of complex applications / software solutions.

The candidate must possess expert level skills in Core Java, J2EE (EJB, Servlets, JMS), Hibernate, Spring, Struts, MQ Series or Tibco EMS. Additionally, the candidate must have strong experience as a Technical Architect / Technical Lead on large Java / J2EE applications projects. The candidate must be very strong in OOD, Design Patterns, UML, Application Frameworks. The candidate should have also been a lead on global applications projects which have on-shore and off-shore teams.

Minimum Experience Required:

* 10+ years of Java, J2EE design, development
* 3 years as a Technical Architect / Technical Lead
* Extensive experience in OOD, Design Patterns, UML
* Extensive hands-on design and development using Java, J2EE (EJB, Servlets, JMS), Hibernate, Spring, Struts
* Strong experience designing applications based on messaging middleware (MQ or Tibco EMS)
* 2 years experience designing / developing Financial Services applications
