As a member of the Ventus team, the Software Development Engineer will be responsible for the development of new applications, adding features to existing applications and providing lifecycle support.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities   

• New development and maintenance of existing company web applications
• Assist and provide technical support as needed ( Software Lifecycle Support )
• Maintain current knowledge of existing production applications and emerging technology
• All other related work as required

Functional and Technical Skills

• In-depth experience in one or more of the following languages:  Perl (Object Oriented Module pattern ), C, C++
• Experience with Front-end Development tools: HTML5 / XHTML, CSS2 & 3, JavaScript, jQuery or comparable libraries
• Working knowledge of relational databases ( MySQL / MariaDB )
• Knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems ( especially Windows desktop and Linux based servers )
• Excel working collaboratively on a team
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

  Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 3-5 years of professional experience in web application development and design, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Offer knowledge about existing production applications and emerging technologies.
