POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for providing high quality, cost effective Database solution for Chico’s Production systems to meet strategic and operating objectives. Responsibilities include management of the Chico’s database engine and processes. Functions include database analysis, design, and problem solving, programming and/or system management expertise in a multiple hardware and software environment. Participates in the development and implementation of database to improve competitive advantage, maximize productivity and operational efficiency. Provides day-to-day services to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of databases that are typically medium to high in level of complexity, and for providing procedures on the operation of those systems.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Database support including system maintenance, patching, cloning, upgrades/installations and system administration • Monitors capacity and tunes for optimal performance. Usage of AWR, ADDM, ASH and OS commands and scripts. • Proactively mitigates a variety of risks and resolves issues as they arise • Participate in PCI and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance audits as they pertain to database controls • Participate in 24x7 on-call production support rotation
QUALIFICATIONS: • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience • Working skills and experience with Oracle 10G, 11GR2 RAC, Data Guard, GRID Control, ASM. Golden Gate Experience a plus. • Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and Unix Shell Scripting • 8 plus years is medium to large data center environments • 5 plus years as a Production Support Oracle DBA with at least 2 years in focusing on Performance and scalability in a Linux\Unix Environment. Preferably Red Hate and AIX. • Excellent problem solving, analysis and design skills • Candidate should also have well developed written and verbal communication skills. • Experience managing technical changes in a complex environment • Solid testing skills and knowledge of various testing methodologies
