SUMMARY

The solutions specialist position will be responsible for supporting a wide range of applications in various roles.  They will utilize SDLC and Project Management controls and processes to ensure high quality support and implementation of enhancements.  They may perform requirements analysis, design, software development, software installation, troubleshooting, or project management.  The solutions specialist may have the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Leads a team of customers and solutions analyst(s) to define scope & requirements, identify key issues, review possible solutions, and present a recommendation.
• Leads others in the definition of project scope, plans and deliverables including cost projections and proposed implementation dates.
• Performs software installation of third party applications on servers, and keeps software up to date with vendor patches and releases.
• Designs and builds software solutions & integrations that meet the needs of the customer.
• Support existing production systems by monitoring, maintaining, documenting, trouble-shooting and resolving issues.
• Mentors others on the application of new technologies, tools, processes, standards and project management/system development methodologies.
• Manages project requirements, scope and change management issues through the project life cycle
• Other duties and/or projects, as needed

• Some air travel may be required.

Education and/or Experience

Required

• A bachelor’s degree, preferably in information technology or a related area, and at least 8 years of related experience.
• Experience in the implementation of an ERP system, with strong business knowledge on one or more ERP business modules, preferably SAP
• Working knowledge of relational databases and client server concepts.
• Working knowledge of the SDLC methodology and IT project planning is required.
• Strong documentation skills and experience in producing documentation for all phases of a project.
• Self-sufficient team player with the ability to cooperate with user community and participate on full-cycle projects.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• Experience with one or more object oriented programming languages such as C#.Net or Java.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies as needed to support our businesses.
• Good interpersonal skills for direct interaction with end users, internal IT team members and consultants.
• Leadership
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools including SharePoint, MS Project and Visio.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; must also be able to pass a required 10-year background check

Desired (one or more of the following experiences)

• Experience in data warehouse technologies, specifically SAP BW.
• Experience with Windows Server 2008 and IIS 7.0
• Experience in one or more reporting tools such as SSRS or Crystal Reports
• Experience with Java GWT
