National Hardware Systems Operations Field Engineer at Chicago, IL
This engineer will be subject matter expert in support of Client Radio Access Network Hardware Quality and Standards Initiatives to help assure RAN site completions will meet all acceptance requirements.
Primary role is to coach Market teams, Tier 1 General Contractors, and Contractors National HW technical authority for RAN HW & Deployment standards, solutions and continuation engineering development, and quality improvements.
This responsibility includes development of formalized training presentations, installation manuals, methods of procedure, and technical service guides and bulletins to educate, inform, and help the deployment teams with comprehensive installation practice and standards for the Samsung MMBS cell site equipment. Candidate will provide trouble shooting support, providing detailed HW technical writings to support any required facet of Radio Access Network HW.
Additional responsibilities include training, educating, and informing field crews, tower crews, and warehouse workers of proper methods and procedures. Quality inspections of crew work and inspecting incoming stock (MMBS, cables…) for quality will also be conducted. Expectation is for this engineer to be regionally (Market) based, and work with local market and GC teams –travelling nominally (up to 2 weeks a month - occasionally more)to various other market locations.
Primary experience required is cell site construction, setting and driving standards into build process, field support, installation and commissioning, using test equipment (Site Master, Spectrum Analyzers, PIM Test, and Telco test equipment. Also desired experience is previous documentation work, and the ability to posture standards positions effectively to internal and external customers.
