Our client is looking for an UNIX Systems Administrator to join their Louisville area team. This person will be responsible for the support of the UNIX server environment. The selected candidate will perform systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation and implementation of very complex applications that require a strong background. Additional duties include:
Participate in all phases of system development.
Design and prepare technical reporting and documentation, produce charts and graphs to record results.
Work alongside other technical teams as well as the data center to resolve any issues.
Install and implement Solaris OS.
Design and implement testing for software/hardware.
Debug OS software.
Tune systems to achieve peak performance.
Monitor and manage system resources, CPU usage, desk usage, backup systems, and response times to maintain OS efficiency.
2-5 years of experience in UNIX administration.
In-depth knowledge of UNIX/Linux required.
Experience with Sparc, x86, and Redhat.
Experience with performance tuning, including kernel tuning.
Ability to troubleshoot issues such as TCP/IP.
Solid experience with shell scripting. Must be able to write effective Perl or Korn scripts to automate procedures and workflow.
Experience working with security administration in an environment where UNIX accounts are synced with Active Directory is a huge plus but any work with NIS or LDAP is acceptable.
Experience with ZFS/VxFS (or similar) administration and Nimson monitoring/management software.
BS in Computer Science preferred
5+ years of experience highly desired
Strong Solaris 10/11 VM server experience highly desired
Storage administration would be a huge plus (SAN zoning, LUN assignment and masking)
Exposure to Centrify Enterprise Suite
Experience supporting enterprise environments
UNIX administration, Linux, Sparc, x86, Redhat, DNS administration, Perl or Korn, and ZFS/VxFS (or similar) administration
