Google released the beta version of Chrome 17. With this new version, Google says some pages will load instantly. Google added the Instant Pages feature to Chrome last year. The technology pre-loads the top search result, making it available instantly. In the latest release, Google extended the Instant Pages feature to the Omnibox (a combination of the address and search bars). When you begin typing a website URL that you visit often into Chrome's address bar, the address will auto-complete, and Chrome will begin prerendering that page, reducing the load time.
Prerendering reduces the time between when you hit Enter and when you see your fully-loaded web page—in some cases, the web page appears instantly.
Google also announced security updates that will keep users safe from malware attacks. Chrome will now analyze executable files (such as ".exe" and ".msi") that users download and will warn them to abort the download if the file appears to be malicious. The new beta version of Google Chrome 17 can be downloaded from the Chrome beta website.
