The best IT jobs in New England right now are in the industrial, medical, and education sectors. Though most of the region's IT workers saw an uptick in opportunities, those in these industries enjoyed the most growth. According to the Federal Reserve: Technology firms year-over-year revenue increases ranged from 3 percent to 25 percent in the most recent quarter, with most in the double digits. An increased demand for software and IT services from the industrial, medical, and education sectors, although some corporate clients remain unwilling to finalize deals. Increased activity has led most respondents to increase their headcounts; indeed, two plan to grow their staff by 10 percent in 2011. Wages continue to trend upward, with most respondents awarding annual increases in the 3 percent to 5 percent range. Dice lists over 1,800 development jobs in and around Boston alone, ranging from Access to XML. I found nearly 200 tech jobs in manufacturing, 250 in medical, and 400 in education. -- Dino Londis
