Resist the temptation to oversell your company\u2019s upward mobility, decision-making autonomy or innovative culture for fear that revealing the truth will drive highly skilled technologists away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact the opposite is true. Technologists want an honest, authentic picture of what your company is like so they can decide for themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start building trust from the first interaction by laying out a clear picture of what the job entails, the performance expectations, management style as well as the shared values, goals, attitudes and practices that characterize the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
