How pressing? Robert Half\u2019s recent data shows that <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/money\/careers\/1-in-4-workers-are-currently-looking-for-a-new-job\/ar-AA1ewexY\"><span><span>64 percent<\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span> of tech workers are seeking out new roles.  <\/span><\/span><span><span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span>Understanding why your employees are looking for new opportunities is important for retaining top talent. Here\u2019s why tech professionals are looking for work, and how you can retain and attract top tech talent:    <\/span><\/span><span><span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span><span><span><span><span>3 Reasons Why Your Tech Talent is Looking for Work<\/span><\/span><\/span><strong><span><span><span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span><span><span><span>The biggest reasons your tech talent is looking elsewhere are probably not surprising:<\/span><\/span><strong><span><span><span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span><span><span><span><span><span>Pay<\/span><\/span><\/span><strong><span><span><span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span>While other benefits may grab headlines, at the end of the day, money is king when it comes to retaining and attracting talent. According to <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mckinsey.com\/industries\/automotive-and-assembly\/our-insights\/attracting-and-retaining-tech-talent-to-sustain-mobilitys-growth\"><span><span>McKinsey\u2019s research<\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span>, 37 percent of tech professionals cited pay as the reason they\u2019re planning to leave a job, and 45 percent said pay is why they\u2019re planning on taking a new job.  <\/span><\/span><strong><span><span><span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span>Importantly, 72 percent of respondents who cited pay as a reason for leaving said their total compensation at their previous role didn\u2019t adequately reflect qualifications and efforts. And talent has more reason than ever to look closely at compensation versus workload and qualifications. Here are the benefits that matter most to tech talent, according to a recent study of tech professionals by <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/action.deloitte.com\/insight\/3328\/how-should-orgs-attract-and-retain-tech-talent\"><span><span>Deloitte<\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span>:<\/span><\/span><span><span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span><span><span><span><span>The biggest incentive for a role was its meaning and purpose (54 percent of tech professionals).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span><span><span><span>Tech workers want opportunities to shape not only their current roles, but their careers. Moreover, remove internal acronyms from postings and replace them with appealing industry-standard, candidate-centric terms. Most importantly, postings need to speak directly to what candidates care about.
