Job Description
Enthusiastic self-starter Systems Technician experienced in working in a graphic production environment is needed for a contract to hire position in Los Angeles, CA.
Systems Technicians provide:
Diagnosis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution related to operating systems, hardware, and software for clients and end-users in an editorial and graphics production environment.
Working under minimal supervision systems technicians respond to calls and helpdesk tickets, provide support in accordance with established processes, and document incidents and remedies.
They also escalate complex incidents to second-level support personnel.
In this support position, the Systems Technician is responsible for:
- Troubleshooting software, hardware, VPN, and basic networking issues
- Installing and updating software on desktops, laptops, remote workstations
- Responding to helpdesk tickets, support calls and walk-ins
- Moving and setting up editorial and graphics workstations
- Creating and maintaining user accounts
- Maintaining video conferencing equipment
- Running diagnostic programs to resolve problems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a patient disposition Education and/or Experience Required:
- Must be an enthusiastic self-starter who works well in a distributed team environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interest in systems administration and customer service
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical users
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- OSX experience desired with additional Windows experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience using, installing, and supporting various editorial and graphics software packages: Adobe Creative Cloud, Davinci Resolve, Cinema 4D, and general office applications
- Linux and VMWare experience a plus
- General data networking and cabling knowledge
- Basic Python and/or Shell scripting is a plus.
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
- Remote work and some on site office work required
- 40 hour work week with overtime and weekend work as required by production
- Walking/bending/sitting
- Some lifting and carrying; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
